MID-CAROLINA MARINE
West Columbia, South Carolina
FME completed a Phase I and Limited Phase II Environmental Site Assessment of the Mid-Carolina Marine property in West Columbia. The property, consisting of four parcels of land, has historically operated and presently functions as a new boat and marine equipment dealership and repair facility. The assessment was performed as part of a proposed property transaction and was conducted in accordance with ASTM E1527-13, Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments.
FME’s Phase I Environmental Site Assessment consisted of a visual site inspection, recording observations, taking photographs, reviewing historical mapping and aerial photographs, reviewing government records, and providing a written report of our findings.
Additionally, to determine if past operations on the property had adversely affected the subsurface, FME performed a Limited Phase II Environmental Site Assessment. This part of the assessment consisted of collecting groundwater samples on the parcels using direct push drilling technology to determine if petroleum, solvents, and/or degreasers have negatively affected the groundwater beneath the property.
